A message from our Diocesan Hierarch and Weekly Visitor to Camp: His Grace, + Bishop Michael

Beloved in the Lord:

Glory to Jesus Christ!

One of the highlights of my summer will be my weekly visits to St. Andrew’s Camp. I look forward to spending time with the children and teen-agers of our Diocese and the Church throughout the country. Our youth are a priority of my episcopacy, because they are the future of our Faith in America.

Parents: This year there is an excellent program planned for your children — camping amidst the beauty of nature in upstate New York, fellowship of young people from various parishes, and our traditional Orthodox worship on a daily basis.

Young People: I have re-tooled the religious education program. It will be interactive — you will be “acting out” the things you are learning … rather than simply sitting and hearing talks about the faith. This will be in addition to popular activities from years past: environmental science, horseback riding, archery, and of course sports and swimming. I hope you will be as excited about all these events and the whole program as I am.

Parishes: Please make every effort to help facilitate your young people sharing in this wonderful summer experience: St. Andrew’s Camp. I look forward to being with your young people each week. Please, help make it happen for them!

With love and prayers,
+ Bishop Michael
